Stan and Haney The Interviews: Peter Max
Iconic Pop Artist Peter Max was a regular guest on the Stan and Haney Show for several years when his gallery would come to town. Max is a legend in the art world. In 1967, Max solidified his place as a counter-cultural icon. He was featured on the cover of Life Magazine on September 5, 1969 under the heading “Peter Maxx: Portrait of the artist as a very rich man.”
In this interview from 2008, Max talks about meeting Stan daughter last year, his numerous awards and commissions as well as talking about the first piece of art he ever sold.
Max is still alive with a thriving business despite developing advanced dementia, largely the result of Alzheimer’s disease.
