Multiple Teens Are In Custody After High Speed Chase In Fort Myers
A 16-year-old driver is facing charges of fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, reckless driving, and grand theft after a joyride went wrong early Monday morning.
The 16-year-old and a bunch of other teens were taking a Volkswagen out for a joyride around 3:30 AM and troopers noticed that the car was swerving all over the road.
Troopers attempted to pull over the vehicle but the teens decided that they are better off with a chase instead.
The chase ended at an RV dealership at I-75 and palm beach blvd when they crashed into an RV. They took off running on foot but were quickly apprehended.
The FHP is still investigating this chase and not many details are available at this time.
