Landlord Accused Of Shooting At Tenant Over Electrical Dispute
Have you ever had problems with your landlord? Chances are they didn’t pull a gun on you.
James McCray got a call from animal control that his front door was wide open and his animals have escaped from his Fort Myers home.
He realized that his landlord cut off the power to his home, so he knocked on his door and confronted him.
His landlord, 83-year-old Chester Charles Braden Jr., pulled out a gun and tried shooting McCray. The gun misfired and he was able to get the gun away from Braden.
This is when he grabbed a second gun and successfully fired off a couple of shots at him as he was begging him not to shoot.
McCray knocked Braden down just as he heard him say that he was going to grab a third gun. McCray managed to escape to the animal control vehicle.
Braden is being charged for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and firing a weapon in public or on a residential property.
