Road Rage Leads To Gunshots In North Port
Patrick Benet Erickson, 42, of North Port was arrested and charged after an incident at the Pink Tequila restaurant off of Toledo Blade Blvd. The incident transpired because of an argument over how Erickson’s truck was parked.
The unnamed victim confronted Erickson for the way he parked his truck in the parking lot. Things started getting heated. Erickson then brandished a collapsible baton and approached the victim in a threatening manner.
Both vehicles then left the parking lot and were driving down Price Boulevard and turned onto Chamberlain Boulevard when Erickson attempted to stop the vehicle. The victim heard gunshots and fled in fear of his life.
Police later went to Erickson’s home where they found the handgun sitting on the front seat of his truck. Erickson admitted to police what had happened.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill, and one count of firing a weapon from a vehicle.
