Gale Sayers, Chicago Bears Legend, Passes Away At 77
Known as the ‘Kansas Comet’, Gale Sayers has passed away following his battle with dementia.
He was one of the best players of the 1960’s. Averaging 5 yards per carry, he led the league twice in rushing, and in 1977 became the youngest hall of famer at age 34.
He was diagnosed with dementia in March of 2017. His wife blames it on his football career.
After his football career, Sayers went on to be a stockbroker, sports administrator, businessman and philanthropist for several inner-city Chicago youth initiatives.
Stan And Haney had the pleasure of having lunch with him back in 2010. Tune in as they pay tribute.
Junior is the producer of the Stan and Haney show. He is also a music producer and audio engineer. He was born in Sioux City, Ia, but has lived down in Southwest Florida since a young age.
