Robert E. Lee Bust Will Stay Out Of Downtown Fort Myers
The city of Fort Myers have voted 5-2 against putting the Robert E. Lee bust back in its original spot in downtown Fort Myers.
Instead, they plan on putting it in a museum.
It is unclear as of now what museum that will be.
An organization called The Sons Of Confederate Veterans took down the bust back in June and still have it in their possession.
Protester’s organised outside of city hall in Fort Myers on Monday pretending to have a mock slave auction.
Some of the protesters wore shirts that said, “This is what Robert E. Lee fought for.”
