The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Is Going Green
In an effort to reduce costs and be environmentally conscious, the Lee County Sheriff’s office has ordered 50 hybrid patrol vehicles.
This is projected to save taxpayers between $3,000- $6,000 annually.
The reason they will save so much money is because police cruisers use a lot of gas. They keep their cars running for the majority of the time at traffic stops and calls to keep their lights, air, and computer running.
