A Guy Steals a Logging Truck and Accidentally Crushes His Own Vehicle with It
DEER LODGE, MONTANA - SEPTEMBER 13: Sun Mountain Logging employee Brian Lott operates a wheeled grapple skidder while logging an area of lodgepole pine trees killed by the mountain pine beetle in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest September 13, 2019 near Deer Lodge, Montana. According to the 2017 Montana Climate Assessment, the annual average temperatures in the state has increased 2.5 degrees Fahrenheit since 1950 and is projected to increase by approximately 3.0 to 7.0 degrees by midcentury. As climate change makes summers hotter and drier in the Northern Rockies, forests are threatened with increasing wildfire activity, deadly pathogens and insect infestations, including the mountain pine beetle outbreak. Although the number of new trees infested each year by the pine beetle has reduced since the height of the outbreak around 2012, the insects have killed more than six million acres of forest across Montana since 2000. Do you ever have days that just spiral down, and nothing goes right? Well, it happens to criminals too . . .
A 36-year-old guy in Canada named Gaetan Henry got his truck stuck on a bridge in the middle of nowhere last week. So he decided to steal a piece of construction equipment to get it out.
He took a skidder from a nearby logging company. They’re like front-end loaders with a huge claw or plow on the front to move logs around.
But he didn’t know what he was doing. So he lost control of the skidder . . . and accidentally crushed his OWN TRUCK by running it over.
He followed that up with another bad decision to report his truck STOLEN. And as soon as cops looked into it, they realized what happened.
He’s facing charges for public mischief and theft of a motor vehicle worth over $5,000. He’s due back in court in October.
