Man Faces Child Neglect Charge After Leaving A 4 Year Old Alone To Attend A DUI Class
Deputies from Charlotte county responded to a call at 9:50 am on Saturday about a child sitting alone in front of a business. The child was difficult to understand and was quite upset but he managed to tell officers that he lived in a blue house with a gold van and that his father was away at school.
The Department Of Children And Families managed to identify the father as 32 year old Eric T. Sickler.
When deputies managed to locate the home, it was empty with an unlocked door.
After Sickler arrived home from DUI school in Venice, he was arrested forĀ child neglect without great bodily harm for failing to provide the care, supervision, and necessities to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
