Collier County Commissioner Candidate Busted For Cocaine
John Jenkins, the only democratic candidate for the Collier County Commissioner race, was arrested Sunday morning for cocaine possession.
Collier County Sheriffs Office received a report around 2:30 AM from a Lyft driver that said there was a man passed out in the parking lot of The Break Lounge.
When the officers arrived on scene, he was laying down yelling for a Lyft driver, he had a black eye and multiple abrasions to his face and legs. He was drenched in sweat and had urinated himself.
He denied any drug use and officers dispatched an ambulance to the scene.
He had a bag of white powder in his pocket that tested positive for cocaine. He claimed, “the substance was a gift from a friend and that he did not actually want it.”
After leaving the NCH Baker Hospital, he was taken to the Naples Jail Center. He was released later that day on a $5,000 bond.
