Stan’s Local Beat: Fort Myers Miracle player found dead
Twins prospect Ryan Costello found dead at 23 in New Zealand hotel room.
Team officials said he died in his sleep Monday apparently of natural causes.
Ryan went to New Zealand to man third base for the Auckland Tuatara in the Australian Baseball League.
After failing to show up to practice on Monday, team officials sent someone to his hotel room, where his body was discovered.
The Seattle Mariners drafted Ryan in the 31st round in 2017. A year later, the Mariners traded him to Minnesota for reliever Zach Duke.
Ryan was just 23-years-old.
