DOD: Man pretending to be a cop, pulls over a cop and hilarity ensues!
For tonight’s Douche of the Day we travel to Hillsborough County, where we meet today’s D.O.D: 35-year-old Barry Hastings Jr.
Barry was travelling on I4 in Hillsborough County in his black Crown Victoria, complete with white and amber lights, .
Barry decided to pull over a driver to warn them to “slow down,” so he activated the emergency lights.
The driver pulled over, but it turned out that Barry pulled over an off-duty Lee County Sheriff’s deputy.
After the deputy pulled his vehicle to the shoulder, Barry approached the deputy and told him to “slow down.”
When the deputy asked Barry for his credentials, Barry insisted he was an officer and that his credentials were at his office, which said he offered to lead the deputy to the station to get them.
Barry then fled when the deputy said he would contact law enforcement and dialed 911.
A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputy saw Barry and pulled him over as he exited the highway.
Amanda Granit, a spokeswoman for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, said that Barry bonded out of the Hillsborough County Jail. It was not immediately clear if Barry had legal representation.
