FloridaMan steals pony to start his own “party business”
After going missing on March 7th, Penny the Pony has been returned to her rightful owners after police arrested 18-year-old Joel Lopez for stealing the pony, as part of his plan to start a “party business.”
According to ClickOrlando, the 29-year-old pony was taken from the Turkey Creek Stables in Plant City on March 7th.
Deputies identified 18-year-old Joel Lopez as a person of interest in the case and on April 8th, deputies from the Agricultural Crimes Unit located Joel who confessed to stealing Penny from the stables.
At the time of the crime, Joel was employed by a pony party business.
Joel was arrested on a charge of grand theft of an animal, which is a third-degree felony in Florida.
Deputies said Penny was found. She was uninjured and returned to her home.
