Florida Man Accused Of Carjacking His Grandmother And Writing Four-Page Apology Letter
According to Fox News, Alan Aspinwall, of Leesburg, has been arrested and charged with unarmed carjacking, domestic battery on a person 65 years of age or older, and theft from a person 65 years of age or older. FOX 35 says the person Aspinwall allegedly carjacked was his own grandmother!
Fox News reports that after police were called due to a report of battery and theft, Aspinwall’s grandmother said that Alan asked her to unlock her car so he could grab something from the trunk. When she walked outside to ensure to was unlocked, Aspinwall allegedly ripped the keys out of her hands and pushed her to the ground, got into the car, and fled the scene, per Fox News.
Upon arriving to the scene, law enforcement noticed injuries on the 77-year old consistent with her statement. He was taken into custody later that day and reportedly denied any involvement in his grandmother’s car being taken.
However, he eventually started feeling guilty for what happened. He even wrote her a four-page apology letter. In the letter, he thanks he grandmother for “always forgiving him.” Sounds like he’s hopeful she’ll forgive him just one more time!
According to the letter, he vows to become a better grandson and father once he’s out of prison. Fox News points out that his grandma thinks his addiction problems led to this situation. Seems like she’s already getting close to that forgiveness he mentioned earlier.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
