The Disney Rumors are True as Another Popular Attraction is Closing Forever.
Attention all Disney fans! Are you ready for some breaking news that’s sure to rock your world? (Or at least make you sing “Under the Sea” in the shower for the next week.) I’m here to talk about the beloved Voyage of the Little Mermaid show. This was a must see at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But wait, Hollywood Studios already has so many iconic live shows like Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. What more could I possibly need?” Well, there was one show that was missing from that list: Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The 14-minute live show, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, enthralled audiences with its special effects and live performers, intricate puppets, and a giant Ursula singing “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” The show’s popularity kept it running for nearly 20 years, but according to Dining Disney, it ultimately came to an end.
Disney Rumors:
When Walt Disney World Resort reopened during the pandemic nightmare, the Voyage of the Little Mermaid show disappeared. Gossip spread that the theater was infested with mold and to make matters worse, the show was taken off the official Walt Disney World website. Furthermore, Inside the Magic reported that the puppets from the live show have been sold, which confirms that this classic attraction, sad to say is officially closed.
So what’s next for the theater and the beloved characters of the Little Mermaid? Will Disney refurbish the space and give us something new to sing and dance about? Only time will tell. But in the meantime, we’ll just have to make do with watching the movie on loop and singing “Under the Sea” in our bathtubs. Just don’t blame me if your coworkers start avoiding you because you can’t stop humming “Part of Your World.”
