Top 10 Dog Parks in Southwest Florida
Since summer just started, it’s time to get outside with your furry four-legged friends! Here’s a list of the Top 10 Dog Parks in Southwest Florida as ranked by Yelp:
Buckingham Dog Park
Or should we say, Barkingham? This Fort Myers park has two corrals for dogs to play off-leash. These corrals are separated by categories of large and small dogs. There are also 2 on-leash dog trails with great scenery to take a stroll with your pup!
Dog Beach Park
This Fort Myers Beach and park combo is great for dogs. Similar to a giant sandbar, the lack of intense waves makes for a safer playtime. With a beach area, you are able to sit while your pup socializes. There is even a foot shower for humans and a hose for dogs! Remember to bring fresh water to keep you and your pup hydrated on the beach.
Pooch Dog Park
Toys and water are provided at this North Fort Myers park. There is plenty of room for your pup to roam while you relax in the shade. You don’t have to worry about finding parking here as there are a bunch of spots. Maybe you’ll run into some friendly locals on your visit!
Wa-Ke Hatchee Park and Recreation Center
Did somebody say baby dog pool? This Fort Myers park has it! The Woof-A-Hatchee Dog Park has small dog and large dog sections for various breeds to hang out with those of their stature. Outside of the dog park, there’s even a gymnasium for your kids to play on amongst other amenities. Two birds with one stone.
Estero Park and Recreation Center
This one’s for you Estero natives. This park is separated by size. It also provides poop bags and tennis balls for your pet’s dump and go. Your dog got dirty? There’s a dog washing area conveniently available. The children’s playground is relatively close and littered with tons of fun obstacles and playsets for your other little one.
Bark n Play Dog Park
Open from dawn to dusk, this Bonita Springs dog park covers six acres. Instead of the usual two separations, there are three fenced areas for small, medium, and large dog breeds. This picnic pavilion is a pleasant additive to this park.
Naples Dog Park
If you want to go here, don’t forget to register your dog! Registration is free for this Naples dog park. With a pass, you are given access to private parking. The upside of registration is the enforcement of dogs having to be up-to-date with their shots and license. That way, you can peacefully enjoy the 1.35 acres dedicated to your pet(s).
Canine Cove
Located in Marco Island, this dog park has a great atmosphere! There’s a lake to walk around along with decorated fire hydrants for a playful vibe. The scenic view past the fences of a waterway and palm trees enhances the experience. Locals also enjoy the various turtle sightseeing.
Depot Park
This Bonita Springs park has beautiful, huge oak trees draped in Spanish moss that provide tons of shade. It gives the feel of the wilderness. There are bridges you can go over for manatee watching or just for walking. The entire park is fenced and has cameras, so it’s safe for your pets and your kids.
Wagging Tails Dog Park
As long as you follow this Cape Coral park’s rules, you’ll be able to have a memorable time with your furry friend! There is a $20 annual fee to maintain vaccinated dog’s admittance to the park. A gate code is required to enter as an extra safety precaution. The park also offers dog obedience lessons starting at $60 for puppies and $70 for beginners!
