Tokyo had its very own extraterrestrial fireworks display Thursday morning followed by a sonic boom.

Videos shared on social media show a massive green and purple flash light up the night sky.

The International Meteor Organization says the light show came courtesy of a meteoroid, saying that it most likely weighed nearly two tons and carried the source energy of 165 tons of TNT.
