Would You Try These Thanksgiving Drinking Games?
According to Alcohol.com, Thanksgiving is the 10th booziest holiday in America. That makes sense. It’s not going to be as “boozy” as New Years Eve, Independence Day, nor St. Paddy’s Day. It’s a day with food as the focus instead of drinks, but that doesn’t mean there’s no drinking! It’s a great time to enjoy a cold one or 2 while watching some football that will be on TV all day. Since it’s not one of the biggest drinking holidays, you might have to get creative for a fun way to drink and bond with family members. Why not try some Thanksgiving drinking games this year!
Maybe you’ve already played some of these before or maybe this is your first time ever hearing about them. Either way these could absolutely make your Thanksgiving this year (admittedly it could also ruin your Thanksgiving as well. It really could go either way). Some popular Thanksgiving drinking games recommended by Drink Playground include “Turkey” which is an incredibly simple and easy game. How does it work? Anytime someone says “turkey” you drink! It’s as easy as that!
You can also play a drinking game while watching the Macy’s Parade by taking a sip every time a character balloon floats by, 2 sips if the announcer mentions how many helium tanks it took to fill the balloon, chug if a balloon bumps a building and/or starts deflating, and you can take a shot when obvious lip-synching is spotted during a performance. That’s a great way to get drunk before dinner is even served.
Then, there are also drinking games for Family Gossip when you take a sip anytime gossip is spilled about a family member. There are also Thanksgiving drinking games for the football games by chugging on a turnover or if Thanksgiving food is shown. Additionally, Drink Playground recommends a game of Gravy Shot Roulette where you fill shot glasses with vodka and one with vodka and a touch of gravy. Whoever gets the gravy shot wins! Finally, there’s Name That Dish where someone is blindfolded and takes a bite of a mystery side dish and has to guess what it is. If they’re incorrect, they drink. If they get it right, everyone else drinks.
