The World’s First Liquor Store Wedding Chapel Opened in New Orleans
New Orleans Has The World’s First Liquor Store Wedding Chapel
You’ve seen the combination restaurants. Dunkin’ and Baskin Robbins, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. Well, how about a business that is combining helping you “tie one on” and “tying the knot”. How about a liquor store wedding chapel.
According to NYPost, “The world’s first liquor store with a wedding chapel opened in New Orleans last Saturday, November 16. Chuck’s on the Avenue, located at 205 St. Charles Ave, hosted a wedding ceremony for a Donaldsonville, Louisiana couple who exchanged vows next to the beer cooler, the store announced in a press release.” The NYPost reports, the couple said, ““We just love to drink and we figured it’s perfect when this came out. We said, ‘Yeah, let’s do it,’” and, “Not an ordinary wedding,” the bride added.
Do you love a business so much that you’d get married there? We’ve talked about people who have been married at Costco and Aldi. It appears this couple in the story loved drinking so much that a liquor store just made sense. A liquor store wedding chapel is an interesting idea. Weddings are full of booze anyway so being at the liquor store certainly makes it easier. At the end of the day, it’s all about the love the people share so where you get married should be a distant second.
We wonder if they were on the same page. As a man who was married outside, next to a swamp, I can say that not everyone gets their dream! But, it made my wife happy so I went along for the ride because that’s what we do for the ones we love. We celebrated in a barn, and if you know me from the show, neither of those are my favorite things!
