Influencers At Yacht Party Drown After Refusing Life Jackets To Keep Tan Lines
These Influencers Really Wanted To Keep Their Tan Lines
You can’t escape influencers. People seem to be “influencing” everything and for some it’s been quite a profitable endeavor. Not all influencers are famous however, but there are some. We also see influencers doing a lot of idiotic things for their fame and the two women in this story are no different.
According to LadBible, Two influencers drowned at a yacht party after they ‘refused to wear life jackets’ as it would ‘ruin their tans and selfies’. The influencers were on an overcrowded boat that was hit by a huge wave, ending up sinking the boat. The two women had no life jackets on and ended up dying.
What’s your fame worth? Certainly not your life. Is keeping your tan lines for better looking selfies honestly worth dying over? What a tragedy. Ladbible reports, one of the women was unable to swim and still chose not to wear a life jacket while boating through an area known as the “Devil’s Throat”.
There are no reports of what these two women were even influencing. It could be anything. We aren’t trying to make light of a tragic situation but this is such a senseless loss. Not taking your safety into account because you don’t want to mess up your selfies? Seems ridiculous.
The Rise of Influencers
As I stated before, the rise of influencers has been happening for the past few years. Forbes reports, it’s due, in part, to a new way of marketing. The traditional marketing landscaped has changed and utilizing social media is a great way to reach new eyes. Rather than paying for commercials and traditionally branding methods, you can pay someone with a social media following less, and maybe reach even more potential customers.
Stay safe out there people. Wear life jackets when boating and realize what’s really important in life.
