We learned a few weeks ago how common it is for people to accidentally shoot their friends. After hearing about, and then speaking to a local Detroit man who was shot by his friend in the buttocks, we were inundated with calls about the frequency it happens. Well, it just happened in Florida, but this time it involved the face.

What do you know about “vigilance drills”? Apparently this is a thing people do to to test their readiness for real danger. Well, it’s seems it’s important to let one another know when they game is on, and when it’s in a time-out. You have to set the rules right?! One Florida man accidentally shot his friend in the face while preparing for “real danger” in these drills but the friend didn’t know it was game time.
Shot in the Face by Mistake
According to lawandcrime.com, a man in Florida was at his house with his friend and shot in the jaw by mistake. As we’ve mentioned, they sometimes participate in these drills where the fight off one another as practice. Reports from lawandcrime.com say that this was a complete mistake. Upon interview, the man said his friend walked out of the kitchen with some sort of weapon and he thought it was a drill. He stood up and discharged his firearm, striking his buddy right in the jaw. According to lawandcrime.com, the man who was shot does not want to press charges against his buddy and it seems they are on good terms still.
