Alabama Starbucks Employee Bitten By Monkey In Drive-Thru Line
An Alabama Starbucks employee was bitten by a monkey in the drive-thru line. You’d never expect that to happen!
The drive-thru line can be a crazy place, whether it’s for coffee or fast-food. People are hungry or need their caffeine and that can bring out the worst in us. I’ve seen fights break out in drive-thru lines and sometimes it’s between 2 different customers in different vehicles or it can even be between a customer and an employee at the restaurant. Anything is possible. However, with all the drama you expect to see in a drive-thru line you never expect to see an employee bitten by a monkey! However, that’s what happened to a Starbucks employee in Tillman’s Corner, Alabama just outside of Mobile.
Was An Alabama Starbucks Employee Bitten By A Monkey?
Lagniappe Mobile reports that the incident happened around 8:30am on January 10th and the Mobile Police Department was called to respond to an incident at the Starbucks on Rangeline Road near Halls Mill Road after a customer’s pet monkey leapt out of their vehicle in the drive-thru lane and went into the drive-thru window and attacked an employee! That employee ended up needing stitches and vaccinations after the bite. It sounds like the monkey ran up her arm up to her head and started biting her. Thankfully, another co-worker was able to grab the monkey and threw it back out the drive-thru window.
Mobile Police Department Public Information Officer Blake Brown tells Lagniappe Mobile, “It was discovered that another employee was able to pull the monkey from the employee. The monkey then re-entered the customer’s vehicle before the customer drove away.” How can you just drive off after that? Your monkey just bit a lady! Brown says the owner of the animal could face charges and there is an investigation ongoing with Animal Services. The employee who was attacked suffered bites on her hands and a laceration to her ear which did require stitches.
The victim tells Lagniappe Mobile, “I was working in the drive-through when the lady came through with [two] monkeys in her car. I had never interacted with her before and had her drink ready. They pulled up to the window and as soon as she rolled down her window, one monkey just jumped out and up to my hand and started [gnawing] on my hand.” Don’t let your monkey loose in the drive-thru line!
