Surgeon Gives Himself Vasectomy As A Gift For His Wife
Did a surgeon give himself a vasectomy as a gift for his wife? That’s what he’s saying!
Not every gift has to be jewelry or something that shines and sparkles. You could surprise your spouse with a trip or some sort of experience. You could plan a lovely romantic date night with a candlelit dinner. Or you could give yourself a vasectomy as a gift to your wife! That’s what Chen Weinong, a plastic surgeon in Taiwan, decided to do. He even detailed it on Instagram and that video now has more than 4 million views online. The New York Post says the doctor said, “It was a strange feeling to touch and suture my own urethra.” They say he decided to upload the video for educational purposes. You can see that video shared to his Instagram (@docchen3) below.

It’s a bold decision to do this by yourself, even if you are in the field. I would think it would still be best to have someone else be doing that work, even if I’m overseeing it or playing the role of supervisor. Doing it myself would be out of the question. If you mess up down there, you’re dealing with some serious consequences. I want none of that. No, thank you. Thankfully, he did have another urologist on hand who would have taken over if anything went wrong or not as planned. Smart thinking to have someone there just in case.
The New York Post reports that the father-of-three chose to get snipped as a gift to his wife to ensure that they would know there would be no more children. During the tutorial video, he walks viewers through the process like it was a makeup tutorial you would see on YouTube or TikTok. I really think I would faint if I had to do this to myself. Commenters seem to agree and are praising the doctor for his bravery in doing this. I don’t know if “bravery” would be the first word I would choose, however. I think “risky” would be the word I would go with. I don’t want to call the decision “stupid” he’s a doctor after all and is likely much smarter than I am. I just don’t think this was a good decision, even if he wanted to gift his wife something.
