Penis-Shaped Housing Community Being Erected In The United Kingdom
A penis-shaped housing community is being erected in the United Kingdom. Believe it or not, not everyone is excited about it!
Residents are seemingly outraged by the new penis-shaped housing community going up in Telford, Shropshire. The proposed home community has plans for a 25-home development and the pitch showed a photo of what the neighborhood would look like and people online and in the community can’t help but notice that it’s…well, penis-shaped, for lack of a better term. Now, it’s not as bad as what you might be thinking. It’s nothing outrageous or too obvious. However, once you see the outline you can’t help but notice that it is, indeed, penis-shaped. Penis-Shaped Housing Community Planned In United Kingdom
Daily Mail reports that the 250-home site would be built on a former coal mine known as Lawley West and would have a variety of 2, 3, and 4-bedroom homes. Last summer, Telford & Wrekin Council and Homes England received 286 responses from residents during a consultation exercise in which 85% opposed the housing community, per Daily Mail.
One resident told Daily Mail, “I can’t believe somebody didn’t look at that [design] and snigger, because we’ve all cottoned on” and another resident, 45-year-old Jane Wheeler said, “Aside from the ridiculous shape of the estate, it’s yet another area of green being bulldozed for houses. If it gets built, lots of people will have to drive many miles to take their dogs for walks. The area is also home to some lovely wildlife.” Okay, it’s good to see that there are other reasons people don’t want to see it get built outside of it being penis-shaped. If it was really just the one singular issue they might have an easier time getting by it. However, now it seems like there’s more to it. However, there are some good things that could come along with it being built. It will reportedly also have a cycle and pedestrian route so you can still get exercise or walk your dog.
So, the two main issues here seem to be it being penis-shaped which after seeing the map and plans I can understand and how it would take away green space. That green space is valuable and is being taken away left and right these days it seems like. I can understand wanting to keep it. Especially those lush rolling green hills over in the United Kingdom!
