73-Year-Old DoorDasher Earns Money After Viral TikTok
No one knows what is going to go viral on TikTok. But, when something does, there are people who stand to make good money from it. We had a few examples today of TikTok videos helping people. A pizza guy made money after a GoFundMe was set up for him. A restaurant saw a rise in customers after a viral TikTok about low clientele. And then, the 73-year-old guy who delivers for DoorDash.
According to reports from CBS8, “A TikTok video of a 73-year-old DoorDash delivery driver in National City, captured in a ring camera went viral, with responses supporting the driver. A GoFundMe campaign in support of the driver was created. Within three days, nearly 1,500 people had donated, raising $26,000 for him.”
Of course, whenever we talk about GoFundMe campaigns raising money for someone, we can’t help but mention that poor guy who saved a baby. Remember, he made nothing from that. Well, this 73-year-old DoorDash driver found himself quite lucky after a video of him making deliveries went viral.
Dave wonders how Chuck and Andy would react if they had the world’s slowest delivery driver. As suspected, they wouldn’t be too happy about it. When we see the video of the man climbing someone’s front porch steps, we notice that he is very unsteady. And, because of his age and wardrobe, Andy says he looks like the ghost of a cowboy delivering people’s food.
Now, it’s an incredible story. The guy works very hard and it’s nice to see the community step up and help him. And, it’s crazy that we had three separate stories today about viral TikTok videos helping people. The lesson to take away here for me is, when you fall on hard times, make a TikTok and hope someone sets up a GoFundMe for you. Or, if you’re doing the right thing or just your job, make a video and hope someone sets up a GoFundMe for you. This 73-year-old guy isn’t rich now, but $26,000 can’t hurt.
