Holiday Jam: ‘Feliz Navidad’ Meets ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’
The new holiday jam is a mash up of “Feliz Navidad” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Somehow, it works.
You wouldn’t think these two things would go together but they end up pairing perfectly. Just like red and green during the holiday season. Or is it just a tacky mess? To each their own but it seems fitting for the holiday season. Some are saying it’s the grungiest Christmas song of all-time and I think they’re onto something. Check out the latest holiday jam combining “Feliz Navidad” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” below. What do you think?

One commenter said, “Okay, but this lowkey slaps, especially the guitar after each ‘Feliz Navidad.'” Another points out that it kind of has a James Hetfield vibe. Another commenter noticed that “Smells Like Christmas Spirit” would have been a clever and appropriate name. You can always count on the comment section for some humor.
Seems like this is this guy’s thing and he’s constantly making videos like this. I respect the effort. He even starts the video by warning that musically this should not work because they have different tempos and such but it doesn’t sound as bad as he warns it may be. I think it actually works. Sure, it’s not the most spirited or jolliest of songs but it does work as a spoof and parody. I don’t think you’ll be turning it on Christmas morning while unwrapping gifts and it won’t be the next big holiday hit but it’s worth a laugh.
What do you think? Did you expect worse or did it hurt your ears? Nirvana certainly isn’t the first thing I think of when I think of Christmas music but I’ll let it slide this time around. There are definitely worse Christmas songs and mash ups out there. Some people start playing their Christmas music in October and I think that’s a bit much. Even in November is a stretch to me. Personally, I feel like once it’s December you’re fine listening to Christmas music and you can start decorating. But anything before Thanksgiving just seems a bit too far ahead. Let’s enjoy Thanksgiving before we rush to Christmas! It’s like people who have Halloween decorations up in August. Hey–I’ve seen it!
