What Did a Guy Do When His Roller Coaster Harness Failed?
Roller Coaster Harness Failed At Park In Phoenix, Arizona
Amusement parks and carnivals are some people’s favorite things. We’ve covered so many roller coaster stories gone wrong. Just last week, we talked about an amusement park ride in California that left riders stranded for hours. If you have a theme park trip planned soon, then pay attention to this story out of Phoenix, Arizona.
According to Fox10 Phoenix, an unidentified man riding a roller coaster at Phoenix’s ‘Castles N’ Coasters’ had his safety harness come undone while climbing to the top of the ride. Moments before the coaster started to head downhill, he was able to get out of his seat, climb onto a catwalk, and walk down to crew members. It appears he was just moments away from heading down the coaster, potentially to some loops, without any safety harness.
You can see the video here from Fox10 Phoenix. Watch as the man stands up in the roller coaster, and makes his way over to catwalk. Quick-thinking and we’d imagine terrifying.
We don’t really do much in terms of roller coasters and theme parks anymore. I might have to as my kids get older, but I can barely swing on the swings without getting dizzy these days. Everyone else on the show has no interest in any thrill rides like this anymore.
Do you think you’d be able to act this quick? This guy heard a click, was able to discern it wasn’t the ride, and pop out of his seat and make it to the catwalk. Impressive, and potentially life-saving.
Have you ever had an experience like this on roller coaster? Maybe you’ve been one of the unlucky people who has been stuck, dangling upside down at your local fair? Please share it with us. The best way to do that is through e-mail. [email protected].
