Recapping The Biggest Moments From The 2024 Academy Awards
Now, the 2024 Oscars are officially in the books. Things pretty much went as we expected. Oppenheimer won the night, taking home the hardware for Best Picture, Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), Best Director (Christopher Nolan), and a few others. However, there were some things we didn’t see coming. Let’s recap the biggest moments from the 2024 Academy Awards!
The internet had a few things to talk about last night, and some of the big moments have the internet still talking today!
Recapping The Biggest Moments From The 2024 Academy Awards
Jimmy Kimmel served as host for the Academy Awards. It was fine. He had some funny jokes, and some that fell flat. However, it wasn’t nearly as controversial as Jo Koi’s hosting of the Golden Globes. That’s not to say everyone was pleased, however. The internet is buzzing over Emma Stone’s eye-roll at one of Kimmel’s jokes. Although, she should be over it by now as she won the Oscar for Best Actress. Check out her viral reaction below.

Doesn’t look like she was too pleased about that one. Additionally, there was some near nudity at the award show this year. It came courtesy of the one and only John Cena! In a bit, John played a would-be-streaker who gets nervous at the last minute. Cena plays it hilariously. I maintain he doesn’t get enough credit for his sense of humor. Check out that sketch below.

Also, we could all use a friend like Paul Giamatti. Paul’s co-star Da’Vine Joy Randolph won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Holdovers. Sometimes, people can get jealous or bitter seeing their co-star win awards when they did not. Well, that’s not the case with Mr. Giamatti. No, Randolph’s win actually brought him to tears–in a good way! The tender moment was caught on camera and was one of the most talked about moments from the show.

So, it wasn’t the worst Oscars ever. At least we have some things to discuss around the water cooler this morning. You can find the full list of winners here. However, these award shows need to continue to step up their game! Audiences are getting bored! The problem isn’t only with the Academy Awards, either. It’s all of them!
