There’s a fine line between clever and stupidity. Especially when you’re planning a proposal. You want to do something special and from the heart. However, that can quickly go wrong. Why did a boyfriend stage an elaborate armed robbery?
Well, he’s going to be in trouble with more than just the law. He’s going to have problems with his lady, and I’m not sure which is worse. This is a story they’re going to be telling for a long time.

Well, this certainly brings a new meaning to “shotgun wedding.” A man in Colombia staged an elaborate armed robbery so he could propose to his girlfriend. Not the best plan.
I’m not sure why so many people do this. I totally understand wanting to do a clever proposal. Maybe you even want to go viral for it. Perhaps she’d like that, or maybe you’re just obsessed with vanity and social media and doing it for yourself. I’ve seen all sorts of wildly inappropriate proposals recently. Some of involved the police and getting pulled over and other crazy plans that should have never crossed their minds. Seriously, getting police officers involved? That’s traumatic for some people!
Well, what this guy was the complete opposite of getting the police involved in your proposal. Instead of calling the good guys, he decided to deal with the bad guys and stage a fake robbery before proposing. Naturally, it was all captured on video and is going viral. However, maybe not for the reasons he expected.
In the video, you see a red car pull up to an intersection and then a pedestrian and motorcycle block its path. Then, two alleged assailants approach the vehicle and have the pair get out of the car. After, two more men approach and join in on the fake carjacking.
What Was He Thinking?
You can watch as the couple is literally pulled out of the car and she is petrified! Then, they force the man to his knees. That’s when the twist happens. He brings out a wedding ring, revealing it was all a set-up for his stupid proposal. I can’t wrap my head around this. Not only are you traumatizing your soon-to-be wife, but what if an innocent bystander sees this and tries to take action? Someone could have been seriously hurt!
My girlfriend would leave me if I tried this. I have zero doubt. She’d be gone.

While committing crimes may seem black and white (you either broke the law or you didn’t), there are certainly some crimes that are dumber than others. Sometimes it’s the crime itself that’s wild, other times, it’s the people committing said crimes. These are 5 of the craziest, cringeworthy crimes ever committed.
Crimes can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. However, it takes a very unique individual, a case study if you will, to commit some of these outrageously dumb crimes. Years ago, these criminals would have been featured on Spike TV or one of those America’s Dumbest Criminal shows. Today, I’m not sure if those shows are around…and I’m certain Spike TV isn’t around anymore. That’s a story for another time.

Crimes can happen for a number of reasons. They may happen out of necessity. They could also happen on accident. These crimes, however, do not fall into those categories. These crimes are different. None of these would accidentally happen. They also aren’t a matter of life or death. There’s no ethics quiz here, or any matters of ‘would you steal bread to support your family?’ These crimes, and criminals, aren’t straight up cringeworthy.

That’s why I’ve gone and found five examples of the wildest stories that Dave and Chuck the Freak have talked about and made a list highlighting the best of the best.
