Guy Goes On Spending Spree After Stealing Father-In-Law’s Life Savings
Look, not everybody gets along with their Father-In-Law or Mother-In-Law. There are several movies about it. It also happens in real life. Just ask the guy who went on a spending spree after stealing his Father-In-Law’s life savings!
The Pennsylvania is now facing charges after he allegedly staged a burglary to steal his Father-In-Law’s life savings before he splurged on vehicles, tools, and vacations, according to WTAJ.
Guy Goes On Spending Spree After Stealing Father-In-Law’s Life Savings
Andrew Bookers is facing several charges after a reported burglary in February of 2023. He says someone broke into his house before taking many items, including his Father-In-Law’s safe with his life savings of $2 million inside, per WTAJ.
When police arrived, they reportedly became suspicious. WTAJ reports they noticed “the house key taken from a pot on the back porch being left on the counter” and another separate safe that was left untouched–that victim said had another $1.5 million inside that nobody knew about. Uh oh. Things aren’t looking good for Andrew! I’m no detective, but even I can deduce what’s happened here. Clearly, it was obvious to law enforcement as well.
During the investigation, WTAJ reports police say they saw numerous new ATVs and vehicles outside of his residence. Police also noted that Bookers is unemployed. So, how is he getting all these new expensive toys? Again, I’m no Sherlock Holmes, but I’m doing the math here. Bookers doesn’t seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed.
Other purchases Bookers WTAJ says he made includes trips to Hersheypark, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and things to support a woman he was seeing. Booker has been charged with theft, receiving stolen property, conspiracy, false reports, and tampering with evidence.
According to WTAJ, investigators say more than $140,000 was spent from the money stolen. Fathers, watch who your daughters marry! Especially if it’s Andrew Bookers. Check out his mugshot from the Blair County Prison below.
