Florida Anger Management Therapist Arrested After Murdered Man Was Found In His Trunk
A Florida anger management therapist apparently had a hard time managing his anger and is being charged with murder. According to the New York Post, 46-year-old Travis McBride allegedly shot a man to death after a lengthy dispute and then shoved the body into his car.
McBride is the owner of Starting Point Mental Health in DeLand. He was arrested after police were called last week to a suspicious incident at a DeLand home. A caller told police they believed a murder happened and they saw a person cleaning blood off the road. The caller also told the 911 dispatcher that they saw the man drag the body across the road and put it in his car.
DeLand police Captain Prurince Dice told WKMG that police found some shell casings from a firearm and spotted blood in the street. Deputies then found the body of 52-year-old Clinton Dorsey with several bullet wounds in the trunk of McBride’s car. When the police searched the area, they noticed McBride walking around and arrested him. Police Chief Jason Umberger said there was a dispute between the McBride and the victim.
Police also talked to a neighbor who said McBride came over to her house looking for Dorsey, saying he was going to kill Dorsey. That neighbor described Dorsey as a homeless guy who lived in the woods across the street from her house.
Another person told deputies he saw bloody clothes in a dumpster that was near McBride’s car.
Several other witnesses reported hearing gunshots the night Dorsey was killed.
When McBride was arrested, he had injuries on his hands, arms, and body. He told police the wounds were from training dogs and “shooting,” according to Fox 35. McBride is charged with first-degree premeditated murder. He is in the Volusia County jail with no bond.
Hey may be a Florida anger management therapist, but he had three previous battery-related arrests between 1995-2017. It seems as though he may have overlooked his own anger management issues.
6 Florida Lottery Scratch Offs That You May Want To Avoid
For those of you who follow my posts (thanks Mom!) you’re probably aware that I love Florida Lottery Scratch Offs. I also love it when I hear that someone has gone down to the Fort Myers Florida Lottery office to cash in a big ticket. Just yesterday we learned of Barbara Arnesen of Lake Placid, who cashed in her one million dollar winning ticket. She was playing the One Million A Year For Life ticket when she hit it big. So, how do you know which ticket to get?
Well, one thing you could do is play a ticket that is brand new. It seems like someone hits a fairly decent prize right out of the gate. Take for instance the Florida Lottery scratch offs that just came out this week.
As of today, the 500x card has already had 6 people cash in $20,000 winners. The 100X has had 6 people redeem $10,000 prizes. Even the $5 – 50X ticket has had 3 people cash in $10,000 winners. That’s 3 days after they first hit stores, and, more importantly, those are the tickets that have been redeemed. How many winning tickets are at home in a safe because they can’t make it to the lottery office until next week? That’s a lot of money in just a few short days, but – none of the “X The Cash” tickets have had any jackpots cashed in yet. Yet. My money is on that happening soon. But what happens if you get to the gas station and they don’t have these tickets? Do you look at the ones they do have and just guess? You don’t need to.
The Florida Lottery Scratch Offs That You May Want To Avoid
One of the big reasons new tickets are so popular is because people know that all of the jackpot winning tickets are still available. But again, what about the others? Some of the tickets have no grand prize winners left. It’s not as much fun scratching a ticket if you can’t win the big prize. But how do you know? The Florida Lottery lists all the data on their website. And I’m going to break it down for you. These are the Florida Lottery tickets where all of the grand prizes have already been claimed. This data is current as of 1/18/2024.
