Arguments between neighbors happen. Maybe one neighbor isn’t keeping up the maintenance of their yard. Perhaps one didn’t return the mower to the other in a timely fashion. These are common arguments between neighbors. However, one man has now reportedly stabbed his neighbor to death over an argument about snoring.
That type of argument is not as common. Often, you don’t even know you’re snoring! You have no control over it! So, what happened?
Snoring Argument Leads To Man Being Stabbed To Death
Christopher Casey, of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, is now being charged with third-degree murder of 62-year old Robert Wallace. Casey and Wallace were neighbors and they were not strangers to one another.
The two reportedly had a very storied history. They were known for constantly arguing about Casey’s loud snoring which Wallace could hear, according to authorities and Daily Voice.
Woah. Could you imagine being able to hear your neighbor snoring? It’s bad enough when you can hear the person you share a bed with. However, the neighbor? You’d feel helpless!
According to Daily Voice, Casey told police was eating dinner when Wallace knocked on his window and shouted, “I’m gonna kill you!”
After a conversation, things settled down for a moment. According to the criminal complaint, Wallace said he wanted to shake hands and offered to help pay for corrective nose surgery t help Casey’s breathing problem and snoring.
Pennsylvania Man Stabbed Over Snoring Argument
That’s certainly one solution. I couldn’t imagine my neighbor snoring so loudly that I’m like, “okay, I’ll go into my own wallet to end this.” Seriously, that’s some terrible snoring! I could see why it would cause issues between the two neighbors.
However, investigators say Casey grabbed a knife, which he hid underneath a blanket, before stabbing Wallace “three or four times,” per Daily Voice.
Reports say he didn’t believe Wallace wanted to shake his hand and move on from things. Casey was arrested and his bail was set at $1 million, Daily Voice reports.
When I first heard about this story, I assumed the guy who was doing the snoring was killed. However, I was wrong! It was the guy complaining about the snoring. Really makes you think twice about complaining to your neighbors.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
