How To Make The Perfect After Thanksgiving Sandwich
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s time to prepare for the inevitable. All of the Thanksgiving leftovers. So before you head out to the Publix in Naples or Fort Myers or wherever you are – there’s a couple of things to add to your grocery list. Things you’ll need to make an after Thanksgiving sandwich. Because you’ll want to be ready for the weekend with a meal plan already in place.
Here’s how to make a simple, yet amazing after Thanksgiving sandwich.
The key here is to not overthink it, but use the right ingredients. Start off with the bun. Whatever your preference. The fresh sub rolls from the bakery are great. But, I go with the Philly Steak Rolls I get from the Wonder bread outlet store on Metro in Fort Myers. Much cheaper. Open the roll, and smear on the mayo. Then it’s turkey, stuffing, and cranberries. A little salt and pepper across the top and we’re done. All of those ingredients are placed on the roll cold. But here’s the extra. A little bowl of warm gravy on the side, for dipping. Warm the gravy a little in the microwave. The cold sandwich blending with that warm gravy is amazing. I sometimes even put some mashed potatoes in that bowl, but it’s mostly gravy. And then pie afterwards, of course.
The key to the perfect After Thanksgiving Sandwich is to keep it simple. A good sub roll (regular bread doesn’t cut it), mayo, turkey, stuffing, and cranberries. Salt and pepper to taste, bowl of gravy on the side. Then, after that, it’s time to get ready for Christmas events.
