Iconic Marker 88 Reopens In Islamorada
It’s been under renovation since 2019 and is now bigger and better than ever. The iconic Marker 88 reopens in Islamorada for summer travel. If you have taken a road trip from Southwest Florida to the Florida Keys, chances are you’ve stopped at this spot at some point. If not, you definitely should now.
Marker 88 first opened n 1967 and has been dining institution for decades. In the village of Islamorada, the remodeled restaurant and bar covers 2.5 acres on Plantation Key. Ocean front dining, boat docks, two tiki bars, it is so Florida. The beachfront has been expanded and a huge event space added if you’re looking for a place to get married or throw a big beach bash.
In addition, the menu has also been overhauled. Along with local favorites, you’ll find flavors of the West Indies, Polynesia, and French Caribbean. Here are some photos to whet your appetite. If you’re headed down for the Key West Lobsterfest next month, be sure to stop.

This beautiful cocktail is called Heat Wave. It has tequila, Aperol and watermelon. Looks near perfect for the summer.
Can't use chopsticks? No problem here. Marker 88's Spicy Tuna Roll comes on a stick. Like a sushi pop. Brilliant idea.
This eye catching cocktail is the Islamorada Relaxer. It features infused rum, coconut and pineapple orange juice. Love the two toned colors.
The Grand Poobah is Marker 88's version of a seafood tower. It's full of local seafood and all of the accoutrements.
It's almost a crime to eat at Marker 88, or anywhere in the Florida Keys, without having a slice of sweet, tart Key Lime Pie for dessert. This one is iconic and it looks so inviting.
Florida sunsets are some of the best and in the Keys they seem to be a little extra brilliant. There is a lot of waterfront seating at Marker 88 to give you amazing views while dining.
