Ariana Grande Is Dating Her ‘Wicked’ Co-Star
Ariana Grande is moving on after her split from her husband, Dalton Gomez. The “7 Rings” singer has been reportedly dating her Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater, gossip website TMZ reports. As we previously reported, Grande and Gomez have been separated since January. According to reports, the couple tried reconciliation a few months back to no avail, and divorce is next. Dalton and Ariana began dating in 2020 following her relationship to Pete Davidson, whom she was engaged to.
Since their May 2021 wedding, they have kept their relationship out of the public eye. Still, Gomez made the occasional appearance on Grande’s social media accounts. Gomez, 27, is a luxury real estate agent. Currently, his Instagram page has been deleted. Since Grande, 30, started filming Wicked in December, the two had thousands of miles of distance between them. Sources told the gossip site that even with the long distance, the couple was having problems. Though they are apparently still friends and keep in contact, there is no hope for the marriage to be fixed. It has been reported that Dalton has been dating as well.

As for Slater, 31, he plays the role of Boq in the film adaption of the Broadway musical. He has been married to his high school classmate, Lilly Jay, since 2018, and they welcomed a son last year. In March, a photo of Ariana and Ethan sitting next to each other as the cast of Wicked celebrated Michelle Yeoh’s Oscar win in London circulated online. Ariana and Ethan apparently didn’t start dating until after he separated from Lilly. However, just two months ago, Ethan paid tribute to Lilly for Mother’s Day on Instagram, calling her “the most loving caring and wonderful mom/person in the world.” Ethan’s biggest break before landing his role in Wicked was playing the role of SpongeBob Squarepants in the Broadway musical, for which he earned a Tony Award nomination.

Ariana is playing Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked, which will hit theaters on November 27, 2024. Over ten years in the making, Grande was signed on in 2021 along with Cynthia Erivo, who will be playing Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. Slater plays Boq, the love interest of Elphaba’s sister Nessarose. The second installment of Wicked will premiere one year later, on November 25, 2025. It remains unclear if the SAG-AFTRA strike will affect its premiere.
