Tom Cruise Was In Naples Last Month
There’s a lot of famous people who have come to SWFL and many who live here full-time, and another A-lister, Tom Cruise was in Naples last month.
One thing I love about Tom Cruise, is that still after all these years, he still does his own stunts. And last month, Cruise was spotted at the Naples Airport flying his personal P-51 Mustang in preparation for a new role. Misson: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part Two is due out next year (Part One hits theaters July 12).
Tom Cruise has had a passion for years, beginning when he filmed Top Gun back in 1986. And this plane in particular may look familiar, as he incorporated it into Top Gun: Maverick.
This particular plane he was seen flying in Naples isn’t his only one. He has quite a collection. Business Insider reports the actor also owns a Gulfstream, HondaJet and a Challenger 300.
So why did Tom Cruise pick Naples Airport?
While we don’t know for sure, Naples Daily News reports that Cruise’s mom, Mary Lee South, lived on Marco Island for almost 20 years, so he’s familiar with the area. But Tom Cruise doesn’t live too far away, as he lives in downtown Clearwater.
