It’s time to bid farewell to July. But not without some local fanfare. Cirque de Soleil headlines Southwest Florida weekend events. Here are your Weekend Vibes for July 26th through 28 so you wont have FOMO on Monday.

It’s a big weekend for sports enthusiasts with the opening of the Olympics in Paris. Click here for an inside look from a local. When you need a break from the television there are lots of events to keep you entertained and cool.

Cirque De Soleil Headlines Southwest Florida Weekend Events

The avant-garde circus brings their show “Corteo” to Hertz Arena in Estero for a four day run. It combines stunning acrobatics and visuals with moving music and artistry. If you have not seen a cirque show, it is quite a production. More information is below.

If the circus is not on your radar, there are other things to entertain you and the family. The Pineapple Fest is taking place in Punta Gorda at the Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens. There are baking contests, food, pineapple experts and more.

The sculpture gardens are one of those hidden treasures of Southwest Florida. This is a great way to explore them and have some family fun at the same time.

One of the best weekend activities I can think of is dining out. Restaurants are typically dreadfully slow this time of year. In addition, many have great incentives to get you through the door. Especially if you like early dining.

  • Cirque de Soleil "Corteo"

    Cirque de Soleil “Corteo” is on tour and will be in Estero at Hertz Arena, Thursday through Sunday. It’s a magical show for all ages. Tickets start at $45. More info here.

  • Pineapple Fest

    This annual event takes place at the Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens. The kick-off is Friday night with live music and food trucks from 6-9. The main event is Saturday with vendors, games, music, food and more. 9am to 2pm, $20. More info here

  • Women Of Rock

    It’s an evening of great music of women in rock from Bonnie Tyler to Taylor Swift and everything in between. Songs are performed by Lakisha Jones from American Idol and Chloe Lowery from Transiberian Orchestra. Saturday, 7:30 at Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers. Tickets start at $39.   • Family Carnival

    It’s happening Friday morning at the YMCA in Naples. Enjoy food, bounce houses, giveaways and more. The fun goes from 9:30 to 11:00. $10. More info here.
