Mike Shinoda Announces First Solo Show Since Chester’s Passing
The free show is to celebrate Asian Pacific Heritage Month and will be held in Downtown LA.
Shinoda released an EP in January, titled ‘Post Traumatic’ in honor of late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, and is also working on a solo album.

Shinoda feared the studio after Bennington’s passing, and told Kerrang! (as told by NME) that “… it wasn’t just the idea of attempting to make a song and being overwhelmed by those memories. There’s another layer of fear for artists in this situation that is, ‘What if I can’t make anything good [without that person]?’”
It’s got to be hard to get back on the horse, especially when you lose the people closest to you. While the music world is still mourning people like Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell, we can’t imagine what it’s like for people like Mike Shinoda – who is used to having that person by his side while creating.
Considering that he’s working on a solo album, this is probably the first of many solo shows. Still, nobody will ever forget about Chester by his side.
