Metallica Donated $100,000 To Milton Relief
The Metallica M72 Tour Is Coming To Tampa, Florida next June, but the band’s charitable side is already being seen in South Florida. It was announced that Metallica donated $100,000 to Hurricane Milton relief through the band’s charity All Within My Hands. The donation is going to Feeding America and The Information Technology Disaster Resource Center in order to aid Milton relief operations.
According to a release from AWMH “The series of storms has strained food bank operations, and our partners at Feeding America need our support. We are granting $50,000 to Feeding America‘s national disaster response program, which provides food and water to communities devastated by recent hurricanes.”
“Along with the physical damage caused by these hurricanes, the swift restoration of essential technology and communications infrastructure is needed. The Information Technology Disaster Resource Center is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that provides technology continuity, connectivity, and recovery after catastrophic events for communities impacted by disasters. We are donating $50,000 to support the ongoing work of hundreds of ITDRC volunteers to ensure public safety, responding relief organizations, and local businesses are connected and have access to the communications they need to serve their community.”
Metallica Donated $100,000 To Our Area
With a show coming up in Tampa next summer, it was an amazing move to see that Metallica donated to Hurricane Milton relief. The same people that will be going to the show are the people that were hit hardest by the hurricane.
Just days after Hurricane Helene ravaged Western Florida, Milton brought further damage to the region with 100+ MPH winds, three feet of rain, tornadoes, and storm surges up to six feet. It is a devastating catastrophe, with 23 lives lost and more unaccounted for. More than 400,000 people are still without power as flood waters, downed power lines, and large debris have impeded ongoing rescue and recovery efforts.
The devastation is ongoing. The water dumped in central Florida from Milton’s rains is now flooding towns and communities as that water flows back towards the gulf. It’s an ongoing crisis. The money Metallica donated will surely be put to good use, and we’ll be ready to rock come next June. 🤘
