Britney Spears Calls Osbourne Family ‘Boring’
Pop star Britney Spears took exception to a comment made on The Osbournes podcast. In a segment where the family takes fan questions, Kelly was asked if she would ever post dance videos to TikTok. “I don’t know how to do TikTok dances,” she said. “I don’t know why anybody would ever think that I would.”
In the first minute of the podcast — do we really have to tell you that it’s NSFW? — Ozzy said that “I’m fed up of seeing poor old Britney Spears on YouTube.” Sharon added, “Dancing,” to clarify that he was referring to her social media posts and not her music videos. “Every f—ing day!” Ozzy continued. “It’s sad, very, very sad,” he noted. Ozzy may not understand that the more you click on a specific type of content — say, a Britney Spears dance video — the more the algorithm will feed you similar content (in this case, more Britney Spears dance videos).
Jack Osbourne, who is most likely aware that Britney Spears has a lot of vocal fans on social media, tried to shut the conversation down, saying, “Save Britney.” Kelly said, “I feel so bad for her.” Jack says, “Very sad, indeed.” Sharon added, “It’s heartbreaking.” They moved on by the second minute of the podcast, but clearly, Britney heard about it. (Watch the podcast — again, it’s NSFW — here.)
Spears responded in an Instagram post, which is also NSFW. It’s a long text rant, which starts out discussing the Kate Beckinsale film, Serendipity. She notes, “I adore Kate Beckinsale especially because she’s from London!” But she continues, “I realized how incredibly cruel people were talking about her IG [Instagram] saying she needs more age appropriate content… she’s in her fifties and i thought it was pretty badass how she responded with a mini bow in her hair looking literally 4 years old!”
That led to her next point: “Not as bad as some of my comments saying it’s sad that I’m as old as I am ” — Spears is 42 — “and I’m dancing every single day on my IG! Number 1) I hardly ever dance…” although her Instagram grid appears to show a lot of dance videos (hey, we’re journalists but we’re not watching all of those videos). “And number 2) I’m not poor at all!” She goes on to say that she taught a dance class last week “to a couple of teenagers.” She noted, “A lot of the kids were too thin and some were too big. I know what it’s like to be judged… I think it’s important to help each other and invite each other to places that help our souls grow.”
After a few more pages, she says “I’m gonna do a photoshoot with Kate and tell the Osbourne family who is the most boring family known to mankind to kindly f— off!”
At press time, the Osbourne family has not responded.
