Florida Man Steals Box Truck, Equipped With GPS
The suspect tried to flee on foot.
The video is crazy! Tampa police can be seen swarming and chasing a box truck that was reported stolen just monents before. When it all was over, police arrested 35-year-old Brandon Baker on carjacking and kidnapping charges.
It all started when a woman told police that she was approached by an armed man who demanded her to get out of her car. The man hopped in the Nissan maxima and sped off. Shortly afterward, another call came in to police about a man who entered a private home and confronted another person. Investigators say the man forced the victim to get in th car with him and they left the home together. That victim, howwver, was able to get away from the suspect. In yet another incident, the Maxima was reported abandoned and a box truck was reported stolen. The owner of the box truck told police that he was in the back of the box truck when the suspect entered it and drove off. The truck was easy to trace due to an onboard GPS system.
The Florida Highway Patrol tracked the truck to Alachua County and attempted a traffic stop, but were unsuccessful. During the ensuing chase, the truck hit several police vehicles. Eventually, the suspect tried to run away on foot, but was apprehended after a short time. The man was taken into custody by the Florida Highway Patrol and charged with armed carjacking, burglary with battery, kidnapping, grand theft and additional felony charges from the Alachua County incident. FLASHBACK: AC/DC Fans Shut Down Highway For Massive Bon Scott Tribute
Bon Scott left this Earth over four decades ago. Nonetheless, his influence is impossible to ignore, and AC/DC fans still adore him.
Want proof? On March 1, 2020 before the world quite literally shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, AC/DC fans came out en masse in Perth, Australia. Why? To honor the 40th anniversary of Bon Scott’s untimely death with an epic festival that shut down a local highway.
Per Australia’s ABC News, over 150,000 people came out for “Highway to Hell,” a festival along Canning Highway, one of Perth’s busiest roads, which was shut down and turned into one long concert stage where eight different bands performed various AC/DC songs on trucks that drove down the 10-kilometer stretch of road.
In addition to the rolling concert, the festival also accomplished a new world record. The record was aptly for “Biggest Air Guitar Gathering” with 3,722 people taking part.
Overhead video of the festival can be seen below, as well as a gallery of images from the event.
Essential Road Trip Albums!
Sean Roberts was conceived in the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky by two passionate, panel aligning, third shifters who had grown bored with the same ole same ole. Upon birth, he was placed in the trunk of a new Stingray and sent off to find his destiny.
That destiny included several stints on radio stations across the United States. Some played punk country gospel, while others focused on Croatian death metal played backwards.
After many years and many adventures, Sean wound up on The Shark, where he does shots of tequila while playing the most badass tunes ever created by humankind.
He remains humble, however, never forgetting about the lean years...the street corners and dark alleys where he played songs on his car stereo for food and sex.
He's on top and he's never gonna stop LIVING THE DREAM!
