FLASHBACK: Joan Jett & The Blackhearts’ Induction into the Rock Hall
Joan Jett celebrates her birthday today (September 22), and it goes without saying one of her biggest career moments in the past five years was when she and The Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
Jett and The Blackhearts were part of a diverse class that included the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Lou Reed, Green Day, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble and Bill Withers.
The band was inducted by Miley Cyrus who delivered an animated and passionate speech about Jett’s influence, as well as the first time the two met. The band’s mini-induction set featured both Cyrus and Dave Grohl and included performances of “Bad Reputation,” The Runaways‘ song “Cherry Bomb ” and “Crimson and Clover,” with a guest appearance from Tommy James.
