VIDEO: Shinedown Grant Wish to Terminally Ill Fan
Shinedown came through big for a 19-year-old fan with terminal brain cancer during a recent tour stop in Milwaukee.
Per local NBC affiliate WMTV, Zach Olson was able to meet Shinedown, his favorite band, thanks to the local organization Thursday’s Child, which helps grant wishes for seriously ill children and young adults living in southwest and south central Wisconsin. Frontman Brent Smith gave Olson a full tour backstage showing him the ins and outs of what goes into their show and also introduced him to Papa Roach and Asking Alexandria, who are also on the tour bill.
Olson and his family also got to watch the show right next to the stage.
“They made us feel like we were family, like we were part of them,” said Olson’s mother, Miranda. “I wish they knew what it meant to us to make this dream come true.”
Video of the Olson’s experience can be viewed in the video from WMTV below.
