Ted Bundy Biopic Featuring James Hetfield Heading to Netflix
After a successful premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Metallica frontman James Hetfield’s acting debut will be coming to Netflix.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has paid $9 million for the U.S. and some international rights for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, And Vile.
The film explores the relationship between serial killer Ted Bundy and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, and tells the story of serial killer Bundy from her perspective. Bundy and Kloepfer are being portrayed by Zac Efron and Lily Collins, respectively.
Hetfield plays Officer Bob Hayward, the first law enforcement officer to arrest Bundy. Extremely Wicked… is directed by Joe Berlinger who also directed and produced the 2004 documentary Metallica: Some Kind of Monster.
Berlinger is also the executive producer of the Netflix mini-series Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes. Yes…the same mini-series that has led to that weird recent phenomenon of people openly lusting for Bundy, one of the most infamous serial killers of all time.
