Now, there’s a one-hit wonder for every Zodiac Sign!
One-Hit Wonder For Every Zodiac Sign
Today, September 25th, is National One-Hit Wonder Day, but I’m sure you already knew that. No? It became a Hallmark holiday back in 1990 thanks to music journalist Steve Rosen, per National Today. Now, there’s a one-hit wonder for every Zodiac sign! To celebrate someone made a list and now it’s taking off online. So, what’s yours? Let’s dive in!
Aries: “Cum On Feel The Noize” by Quiet Riot. According to the New York Post, “Aries folk are about as subtle as a pinata full of ball gags…[This song is] an in-your-face, fist-pumping banger that begs for more and more, and then delivers.”
Taurus: “In the Summertime” by Mungo Jerry. I love that song! The New York Post says, “Taureans live by the pleasure principle, and this song celebrates all manner of earthly delights…The opening grunts even sound like lazy sex, the preferred pursuit of bulls.”
Gemini: “Informer” by Snow. I don’t know if I’m familiar with this song! The New York Post says, “Gemini finds their spirit mirrored in a fast-spitting song that is as maddeningly likable as it is utterly incomprehensible…and with their penchant for word vomit, Geminis make up a large swath of snitches.” Okay!
Cancer: “Cake By The Ocean” by DNCE. According to the New York Post, “Invokes the crab tenants of intimacy, sidestepping the point, emotional eating and the familiar comforts of seaside environs.” Clever description there, I get it.
Leo: “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred. The New York Post says, “No one has ever accused a Leo of modesty, and ‘I’m Too Sexy’ is an eye-roll anthem of superiority and self-worship.” That’s hilarious and matches most Leos I know. Incredibly accurate on this one.
Virgo: “Dance Monkey” by Tones and I. “Virgo is prone to hyper-focused monkey behavior, doing weird, repetitive, and completely obstinate things in a signature way,” per The New York Post. It’s a fantastic song and is so catchy!
Libra: “Smooth Criminal” by Alien Ant Farm. The New York Post says, “[Libras are] so good at being charming charlatans that you almost want to thank them for robbing you.” Interesting approach here. I’m not sure if I would feel that way.
Scorpio: “Hit ‘Em Up Style” by Blu Cantrell. I remember this song! It was awesome. The New York Post says, “Scorpio is the sign of sex, death, and other people’s money. This banger extolls the bitter joys of literal payback, punishing a cheating partner with financial ruin.”
Capricorn: “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles. Interesting explanation on this one. The New York Post says, “Sung by a Capricorn about a Capricorn, [it’s] an ode to Elvis Presley. Ruled by taskmaster Saturn and represented by the devil tarot card, Capricorn is the sign of leather and legacy.”
Aquarius: “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eifel 65. Okay, props to them for not going with the easy one here. The New York Post says, “Aquarius flies the flag of the misunderstood, and listening to this song…feels a little like freebasing Fruity Pebbles and a whole lot like an Aquarius writing a memoir.”
Pisces: “Because I Got High” by Afroman. This is mine and I must admit…it fits. The New York Post says, “Pisces is the sign of altered states and pastel oblivion, and Afroman’s anthem of ‘all that could have been if he hadn’t said yes to excess’ speaks to [that] escapist spirit.”
Does yours match your personality? What do you think? Are they onto something or is it all made up for fun?
