Florida Man Tries To Steal Corvette But Gets Trapped Inside Instead
It was a rough day for 33 year old Florida Man Ravesh Rabindranauth. All he was trying to do was steal a Corvette from a Miami Beach, Florida parking garage. But when he got in and closed the door, the car trapped him inside, instead.
Julio Solano, the owner of the Corvette had parked his car at a a parking garage on Washington Avenue and 16th Street in Miami Beach. He noticed that someone was inside his car when he walked up to it, so he pulled out his phone. His statement to the would be thief was pretty clear “My brother, this is not your car, this is my car,” But our Florida Man could not comply, you see, he was stuck. “Can I get out?” he replied.
“No, you can’t get out. We’re calling the cops,” Solano told him.
You see, what had happened was that Ravesh found an unlocked car and thought he could jump in and take it. But the Corvette has a pretty solid security system and without the key fob there’s not a lot you can do. Including opening the door.
Corvette Security
I’m not totally familiar with the security on this car, and apparently neither is Ravesh. There’s actually a manual door release under the seat. Something you’d know if the car was actually yours. But unfortunately for Ravesh, he didn’t know. So he was stuck. Here’s the video from NBC6. You almost feel sorry for the guy. Almost.
Is Ravesh Really A Florida Man?
Our guy was charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance. There was no mention of meth, marijuana, or any other drugs or weapons. To be a true Florida Man, you need to commit multiple crimes at once. Perhaps the population of the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center can teach him the rules. Also, driving a Corvette can be a bit tricky, you can spin that thing out pretty easily if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Next time, stick to stealing 10 year old Camrys. And bring some meth with you – geesh. This is Florida.
