Did An Olympic Pole Vaulter Lose Medal Because Of His Big Bulge?
The internet is claiming an Olympic pole vaulter lost out on a medal because of his big bulge. However, is that really what happened?
It’s been all over the internet lately. People have been sharing clips and stories that make it sound like French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati lost out on a medal at the Paris Games because his member got in the way. As funny as it would be if it were true, it doesn’t appear to be factual.
No, An Olympic Pole Vaulter Did Not Lose A Medal Because Of His Package
Look, we all wanted this to be true. Especially here on Dave & Chuck The Freak. Training your entire life and dreaming of this moment only to have it shattered because your penis was just too big would be a brag you can dish out for the rest of your life. Can you imagine if that happened to Chuck? Unfortunately, it was not his bulge that shattered his dream (although now it has shattered ours).
Video being shared online of the Olympic pole vaulter trying to clear the jump appears to show his bulge being the reason he hit the bar and knocked the crossbar over. It quickly spread across the internet and social media because that’s the content we watch the Olympics for. Yet, after taking a closer look, it seems like that’s actually not the case here. During a full video, you can see Ammirati attempts to clear the bar but first hits it with his shins, then his knees, and then finally hits it with his bulge knocking the bar loose. So, no, his bulge was not responsible for his loss, but it was like a cherry on top.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Given the form, you’d have to think it’s pretty common during pole vaulting. You’re putting it out there and center. According to BBC, a similar thing happened to Olympic pole vaulter Hiroki Ogita from Japan during the 2016 Rio Olympics. It was actually oddly similar to what just happened to Ammirati. His bulge was also originally blamed for knocking down the crossbar, but it turned out that his leg hit it first, followed by his crotch, and then his arms brought everything down. We all want it to happen, but not yet. Hopefully, one day we’ll see a bulge actually be responsible for an Olympic loss.
