Alligator Walk Of Fame Is Coming To Orlando
Living here in Southwest Florida, seeing gators is something we’re used to, but there are some that are very famous that you’ll be able to see this summer as the Alligator Walk of Fame is coming to Orlando.
I live on a lake in Fort Myers, so nearly every day there’s at least one gator out there swimming around. I really do think they’re pretty cool creatures, but I wouldn’t want to get too close. Especially having a curious dog like mine, he’s never happy with me when I pull him away from the edge. But even if I don’t see one there, I don’t like to take my chances. And while gators are a way of life for us here in Florida, there are some that have gotten to be pretty famous over the years. So famous that there is an Alligator Walk of Fame coming to Orlando this summer.
Alligator Walk Of Fame Is Coming To Orlando
Orlando is home to so many theme parks from Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Legoland, Fun Spot America and SeaWorld. It is also home to Gatorland. I haven’t been there yet, but it’s on my list. Not only for the gators, but also because they have a capybara experience and I love those furry little cuties.
Over the last 5 years, Gatorland has rescued many many alligators, over 100! And to celebrate, this summer they’ll be debuting the Alligator Walk of Fame. We all know about the Hollywood Walk of Fame where you can see celebrity stars up and down Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles. Well, this will be similar, but according to NBC2, it will feature celebrity alligators, including one named Jawlene that went viral after she was rescued without an upper jaw.
What else is there to do at Gatorland?
At Gatorland, there are more than just alligators, although they are known as the “Alligator Capital of the World”. They also have crocodiles, snakes, tortoises, birds, wild cats and more. There’s a zip line, an off-road adventure and shows as well. And right now, for Florida residents through the end of July, tickets are half off.
