Look out McDonald’s, the new value menu at Sonic is turning heads. The fast food chain is the latest restaurant to launch a value menu and it’s here to stay!
Sonic is a bit different than many other fast food chains. You have the drive-in set-up and they offer just about anything you can think of. Burgers? Check. Hot dogs? Yup. Corn dogs? You bet! They’ve also got delicious beverages and desserts that you can’t find anywhere else. Now, you an enjoy some of the greatest offerings for only $1.99!
New Value Menu At Sonic Has Our Attention
By now, you’ve probably noticed how expensive fast food has gotten. It’s to the point where it’s often cheaper to go to a sit-down restaurant for a meal than it is to have a combo at a fast food chain. Well, it sounds like America’s fast food chains have heard our complaints. They’ve all started trying to introduce an updated value menu to try to get more bang for our buck, or are in the process of doing so. Wendy’s has long had the $5 Biggie Bag and 4 for $4 combos. Now, Burger King, McDonald’s, and Taco Bell are reportedly following suit with value menu combos.
Remember when McDonald’s bragged “Got a buck? You’re in luck!” Those were the days! I long for the days when a McChicken was only 99 cents. Not to age myself, but I can also remember when a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger at Wendy’s was also only 99 cents. Thankfully, our nostalgia for affordable fast food may be coming to an end soon with the new value menu at Sonic.
Now, you’ll be able to enjoy even more affordable eats at Sonic, too. What’s included in the epic new value menu at Sonic? According to Daily Mail, the $1.99 Menu at Sonic includes: Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger, Chili Cheese Coney, Bacon Ranch Queso Wrap, Southwest Crunch Queso Wrap, Small Tots, and any of the 12 flavors of Sonic Shakes in a 16-ounce size. That’s unbelievable! Fast food is back, baby! To make it even better, Daily Mail reports that these prices are here to stay indefinitely. This isn’t just some Summer promotion to get your attention before they return to the original over-priced offerings.
There’s A New Value Menu At Sonic For Only $1.99
Regarding the new value menu at Sonic, Chief Marketing Officer, Ryan Dickerson, Daily Mail, “Now more than ever, consumers are focused on affordable food options, but they shouldn’t have to settle for the same old, tired discounts or boring meals. Many restaurant brands are touting value menu and discounts, and you see a lot of recycled ideas with limited options. At Sonic, we wanted to do something different–something fun–so we focused on variety, which is why we’re introducing the new $1.99 Menu, or what we like to call the FUN.99 Menu.”
A Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger for only $1.99 has my attention. You can’t beat that! I am ready for these new prices. I think it will help give fast food chains a resurgence across the country. Can tell you first hand it’s going to be a successful trial at my local location.

I have spent so much time in drive-thrus that I think I could be considered an expert witness in a court case, at this point. I’ve seen delicious items come and go, prices climb, and experiences all the promos and deals. Why did KFC get rid of the Twister? When will McDonald’s bring back the famous Snack Wraps? These are all questions I ask every day, and sadly have no answers for. However, one day…we will get them back. I truly believe it in my heart of hearts.
I could go on and on about my love for the value menu. I’d say at least once a week I think back on my high school days when the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendy’s was only 99 cents. Do you remember that? 99 cents! It was amazing. Now, the price for one JBC is closer to $3 than it is 99 cents. I feel like this is the new version of that old “back in my day, we’d walk 2 miles to school up hill both ways! stories your grandparents would tell. Now, these stories are all about how low the value menu prices were back in our day. “When I was your age, every item on the dollar menu was a dollar!”
