Naples Beach Fight Ends in Stabbing and Felony Charges
A Naples beach had some serious drama this past Sunday. Of course, whenever you go to a Naples beach, you want to relax and enjoy the sun. You certainly don’t want to get stabbed. Or be the one doing the stabbing.
According to the Naples Police Department, that’s what happened at the 9th Avenue South Beach End around 6:00 pm on Sunday. The beach was packed with people enjoying their weekend when, suddenly, the police get a call from Yadir Enriquez, who’s in a panic because a guy named Jeffrey Treffy is allegedly harassing his daughters, aged 14, 17, and 18.
What started as a verbal spat turned into an all-out Naples beach brawl. Enriquez and Treffy ended up fighting, and in the heat of the moment, Enriquez stabbed Treffy to protect his kids. According to an eyewitness, Treffy went after Enriquez three times and even got physical before he got stabbed.
Naples Beach Brawl:
When the police showed up and dug into what happened, they found out Treffy wasn’t just an innocent beach goer. They charged him with misdemeanor battery for attacking Enriquez. But here’s where it gets crazy… Treffy has two prior battery convictions, so his charge got bumped up to a felony.
Enriquez isn’t off the hook either. The detectives slapped him with a felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge for the Naples beach stabbing. Oops. Well, I can’t say I blame him for wanting to protect his daughter. Ask any father if they would do the same. Never mess with a dad’s daughters. You’ll find out that dad WILL stab.
So, be careful out there. Sometimes, even being someplace as beautiful as on a Naples Beach, isn’t immune to drama. It’s not always just about sunbathing and building sandcastles. Sometimes, things get crazy and someone ends up getting stabbed. Florida, right?
